If you or a loved one has recently received a diagnosis, you may be feeling overwhelmed, trying to figure out what the diagnosis means and how to fit it into your life. We can help. We will help you interpret reports and diagnoses. With combined experience of almost 40 years working in public and private sector mental health and developmental disorder services, we are familiar with the various services, eligibility requirements and funding programs available to you. We can help you figure out what programs and services you require and how to navigate the systems to best meet the needs of you and/or your loved one(s).
You may find yourself facing an upcoming case conference, identification, placement and review committee (IPRC) or individualized education plan (IEP) meeting. We can help you prepare for your meeting, identify the questions you didn't know to ask and what your rights/your loved one's rights are. We also offer training to parents and others who care for a person who has special needs, so that you may be consistent in applying the strategies used to teach your loved one new skills and address challenging behaviours.
