Blue Heron Counseling and Assessment is a solo practice that I founded to allow me to practice therapy and psychological testing. I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and private pay through my private practice. If you have any other insurance, I am partnered with Midwest Health in Burnsville, MN and can accept nearly all insurances through them.

I am Dr. Alison Aschenbach, PsyD, LP, LCP, APIT (she/they). I am a psychologist who has lived throughout the Midwest. I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI, lived in Chicago, IL, Madison, WI, and Saint Paul/Minneapolis, MN. I love to joke about being a Big10 girl, since I have lived in cities with so many of the schools in that league.

I love my family, my pets, and my friends. In my free time, I can be found hiking, spoiling my pets, and traveling, or just spending time with family in front of the TV or playing a tabletop game.

I earned my doctorate from the University of St. Thomas, MN in 2022

LP - Licensed Psychologist

I am licensed to practice psychology in Minnesota

LCP - Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I am licensed to practice psychology in Illinois

APIT - Authority to Practice Interjuristictional Telepsychology

I can provide teletherapy to anyone residing in these 42 states through PsyPact, an multi-state agreement to increase access to healthcare.

I am a member of the American Psychological Association, the Minnesota Psychological Association, the Illinois Psychological Association, and am registered with the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards to maintain my APIT.
